Hear The Cry of the Three!

A couple of weeks ago, I found myself home alone on a Thursday night as the Collinses opened the dawn of summer (some might call it Spring) with their annual trip to the beach for the ACC Men's Basketball Tournament. Being without conversational distraction, I deemed it the perfect opportunity to stop living out of my laundry basket and actually put some clothes away. A muted audience and a mundane task can only mean one thing for me - headphones in, iPod on, and vocal chords ablarin'. If these walls could talk they'd say they're so glad they can't hear.

Speaking of Undiscovered musical talent, if I could have the singing voice of any artist right now I think it would have to be James Morrison (no, this isn't your mother's Jim). I've heard him described as "white boy Motown" (G105's Mike) and his ode to Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Al Green & Co. in the liner notes lends some credibility to that. I'm no music journalist so I won't even try to put together a review here, but just a quick note on why I'm enjoying the tunes - the songs have great melodies and the kid sings like a champ. Another little side note here, the first couple of times I listened to the CD I thought it was the kind of music Elliot Yamin of American Idol infamy should be singing. I sampled some of the songs on his just released album and I think he's close but missing a bit in the performance and songwriting. Ironically as I write, Yamin's sitting in 3rd with Jimmy right behind him in 4th on the iTunes Top 10 Albums chart.

I'm telling you...you should be on the "The Feeling" bus early, if their name doesn't say they're the band for you I don't know what will.
